Fluxivo is a solo work centered on continuous motion, driven by pitch, register, and sustained momentum. The piece maintains an active tempo while incorporating carefully shaped ritardandos that momentarily slow the motion, settling around 60 BPM before returning to tempo. These moments provide structural focus without disrupting the overall drive. Articulations marked staccato are intended as detached rather than short, emphasizing separation and clarity between notes while preserving resonance and line. Wide intervallic gestures and extended use of the lower register explore depth, weight, and color. Despite its physical demands, the work is highly effective in performance and is a strong choice for auditions, highlighting rhythmic control, articulation clarity, and expressive command, making it especially effective in audition settings.
Fluxivo has been arranged for multiple instruments. If your instrument is not listed, please feel free to make contact, and a version can be prepared upon request.
